Potassium nitrate
Nitric acid is used in the production of potassium nitrate, and additive and coloring agent for salted meat during the manufacturing process of preserved foods.

Sodium nitrate
It is also used in creating sodium nitrate, a combustion auxiliary agent such as matches, solid propellants for rockets, brighteners for glass and pottery, heat storage mediums for solar heat power generation and preservatives for food and as additives.

Ammonium nitrate
Nitric acid is also a primary material for nitrogen-sourced chemical fertilizers, materials used for gunpowder and explosives.

Uranyl nitrate
Another product is uranyl nitrate, a pigment of the glass industry, and is used as a sensitizer for pictures.

Iron nitrate
Another product is iron nitrate.
When mordant, it is a material used in the fixing of color to fiber. When combined with coloring the compound will not be soluble in water.

Lead nitrate
Lead nitrate is used as explosives, mordant when staining, is a synthetic raw materials for lead content compounds, a heat stabilizers for nylon and polyester, coatings for thermal paper and materials for rodenticides.

Nitric Acid is a very corrosive cargo. Therefore, stainless steel cargo tanks are required.
